The Challenge
Aegean Voyages specialized in premium private yacht and historic site tours. However, their old website took over 4 seconds to load on mobile connections, causing a 40% bounce rate. AI search engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity could not parse their page content, resulting in zero citations when travellers asked AI for yacht charter recommendations in Izmir.
Our Solution
We implemented a complete website rebuild on Next.js standalone output, utilizing self-hosted fonts, fully optimized WebP image sets, and clean semantic structures. We set up strict direct-answer layouts and FAQPage schema schemas, creating readable structural blocks optimized specifically for AI search engines (GEO).
The Results
The website loading speed improved to 1.3 seconds, causing immediate reductions in bounce rates. Organic traffic surged as Google recognized the speed improvement, lifting key yacht charter keywords to Page 1. Additionally, Aegean Voyages now regularly registers citations and recommendations in ChatGPT and Google AI Overview responses.
